Giving Tuesday |
There are less than 500 Newfoundland Ponies left on the planet; under 50 are in the USA. We work to prevent their extinction.
We are not only working to save the ponies, but also through our outreach, to save the lives of people with substance disorders and mental health issues. Since the pandemic, the incidence of substance abuse, depression and deaths has skyrocketed. Individuals and families are under stress. The need for more resources is great.
Addressing this crisis, the Dahl House therapy farm opened in the fall of 2021. Eight of our Newfoundland ponies reside there, with more due to arrive in the spring. Residents of the farm work and interact with the ponies on a daily basis. As well as the community, the ponies help them through Equine Assisted life skills development. Side by Side, People and Ponies As such, the ponies are helping people and people are helping the ponies, symbiotically, and it's a beautiful thing. Overall, there is a difference being made, and the program is growing, helping more people.
At the same time our ponies are aging, and with that comes more veterinary expenses. There are also pony transportation expenses when we take in or re-home ponies since most are spread far and wide. Your donation will enable us to pay for these important elements of our mission to save the Newfoundland Pony. Thank you!
We are a 501c3 organization and issue tax receipts if goods and services are not received. PayPal's Giving Fund automatically gives you a receipt. *If you wish to be publicly recognized as a donor, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected]. We would be happy to do so.
